It's been quite an eventful year for the IWA! It began with manager Donald Henry prompting us to introduce a game-wide roster limit of 200 wrestlers to add an element of strategy to the existing 50-wrestler federation limit, and he also had us include the final hold position in match descriptions when bouts end early due to count out, disqualification, or the six-holds-in-a-row rule.
Donald won back-to-back real-life belts in the Unknown Wrestler League, and the Circle of Tyrants faction won back-to-back Stablecade contests. Manager Brad Norman became the second player in our history to win consecutive triple crowns (the World singles, tag, and six-man titles), while manager Solomon Shaw pulled off the impressive feat of retaining simultaneous World and National Championships. Manager Steven J. Deane became the third player to hold the IWA World title three cycles in a row, and manager ~TZ~ became the third player to have an undefeated wrestler inducted into our Hall of Fame.
We lost legendary manager Frank "Leatherman" Snow to retirement after 37 years of entertaining his fellow players, and cherished manager Timothy L. Clark tragically passed away.
The journey to our 40th anniversary started with signing bonuses for our four annual contests, and also included bigger prizes for league champions and battle royal winners, even more generous match deals (available four times during our 40th year), and four opportunities to gain four stars instead of one.
So, how do you cap off such a year? With a well-deserved break, of course! Thanks to a suggestion from manager Jason Groomes, our entire organization -- and that includes all of you! -- will be taking what is, to the best of my recollection, its first-ever official vacation. Yes, after close to four decades of delivering intense wrestling action to people's mailboxes, cycle in and cycle out, all of us who participate in this weird, wonderful game will finally get to enjoy a week off at the same time. Mark December 23rd on your calendars, and use the brief hiatus to recharge your internal batteries and replenish your creative juices, because the competition kicks back into full swing a mere seven days later!

An incredible 14,198 losses were deducted from the records of the 384 grapplers who competed in this year's tournament! Champions received a winner's purse of $250,000 in i-cash, while second through fifth places were worth $100,000, $50,000, $25,000, and $10,000, respectively.
In the night's final free-for-all, which involved the top performer from each of the previous ones, They Them Climate Change Elrod 13th proved to be the most proficient at the greatest number of martial arts and so was awarded the title of IWA MMA Champion! In recognition of the history-making achievement, 40 free matches were bestowed upon his manager, Kevin Elrod.
