JOHNNY B SAYS

The results of Stablecade are in! Thanks to everyone who took part in the fun this year. The next IWA-wide contest will be State Wrestling 2021, and it's coming soon!

Congratulations to Frank Jay Belcher III, who has held the World Six-man titles for 24 straight cycles! The old record of 23 was set by manager Caleb Crawdad a mere eight cycles ago.

Starting this cycle, commissioners can submit not just interleague matches, but interfederation matches! All wrestlers involved must belong to either the same federation, or federations processed earlier in the cycle. We previously had to outlaw this feature because some managers figured out how to use it to gain an unfair advantage: since the strategies in later leagues had not yet been changed but the new hold values for those federations were already in the system, they were able to collect clues about those later values. (Related note: the IWA has always, from Day One, entered the hold values for every federation into the computer at the beginning of each cycle. That practice has caused problems on several occasions, including as recently as Stablecade 2019. The IWA has never, from Day One, learned from these incidents. One of the many benefits of the transition to all-digital bulletins, which occurred last January, is that the hold values for later federations cannot be accidentally published early anymore, so now we'll never need to learn.) By restricting interleague matches to the same or earlier federations, the feature can no longer be abused.

We require interleague matches to be signed by commissioners, because they take longer to process and we need to make sure all relevant strategies are in place before holding the matches. That will continue to be the case. For interfederation matches, the commissioner of the last league to be processed during the cycle should send in the match. For example, if the Elite Generation leagues wanted to pit a six-man team consisting of one wrestler each from Generacion Proximo Lucha Libre in Iron, Queen's Quest Wrestling in Gold, and Elite Prestige Wrestling in Bronze against a team from the Bronze Age leagues (perhaps led by reigning World Champion Valin Arya from the United Nations League, with some backup from the champions of Ladies Revolution Wrestling and The Nightmare Dimension), the commissioner of either EPW or one of the BA leagues would have to request the match, since the Bronze Federation is processed last of the three. The match would appear in the GPLL and the QQW bulletins the following cycle.

Since more commissioners are beginning to work together on contests and Pay-Per-Views, sometimes going outside their own federations and relying on total points to determine the winners, it made me realize there was a way we could lift that restriction on interleague matches. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this reinstated capability!

Also this cycle, we're asking you to vote on adding an exception to our six-holds-in-a-row rule: if you choose a perfect 501-point strategy for your wrestler, or your tag-team's total is a perfect 516 points, or your six-man team scores a perfect 521-pointer, should that protect them from losing by six-in-a-row? Please let us know what you think!

"There are many prizes, but this is the big one. I am excited and humbled to capture my first World title. It is extra sweet to win from the league I started and commissioned for its first 60 cycles. The UNL is in great hands with Flip, and I am excited to see where he, Shawn, and Brandon take the Bronze Age moving forward. Those three managers are some of the most creative people in this game; it has been my pleasure to work with and learn from them.

"As much as winning the World title means to me, it cannot compare to the friendships I have because of the IWA. Jake and Tom (my TBABIT stablemates), as well as Brad (the G.O.A.T.), are three of the best human beings I know. We have evolved together from our rookie days, and so much of what makes this game fun is playing it with them. They are my brothers for life. Time to crack open some Natty Ice and blare some Thin Lizzy!"
