The Unknown Wrestler League is now accepting sign-ups! This time around, we're taking manager Dan Harrell's suggestion of limiting players to six wrestlers each instead of the usual 10. We're also cutting the entry fee in half to just $1 per wrestler. The long-running contest will use the Diamond Federation hold values for its latest iteration.
Just like in the previous run, we will allow league champions to choose "no one" as the target for elimination, since that provides the opportunity for more strategizing, and it also lets you, the managers, have some control over the pace. Will you attempt to avoid putting a bullseye on your own back by refusing to oust anyone from the league, fearing their manager may have a future league champion waiting in the wings who will literally have your wrestler's number? Will you limit those booted to the bottom five to increase the number of wins, stars, and imaginary money your wrestlers can bring back to their original leagues? Or will you throw caution to the wind and target your biggest competition in an effort to send the league racing to its exciting conclusion? That's all part of the fun known as the UWL!
We will process your entries during the upcoming April cycle, and the first round of eliminations will occur in the Spring cycle. That should give everyone enough time for their entry forms to arrive, and raise the anticipation level to the boiling point. In bulletin #1, all wrestlers will face one random jobber and enter the battle royal for free. You are free to submit additional matches against jobbers the first cycle at the usual prices; simply tell us how many extra jobbers your wrestler would like to challenge.
The last journey to find the most deserving recipient of the real-life UWL belt took nearly two years, and once the action gets underway, the league becomes "exit only" until its next tour, so we hope to see your grapplers there -- even though we won't recognize them!
Finally, the results of Stablecade 2021 will arrive next cycle. Watch for them!
