The only remaining annual contest before the arrival of our 40th anniversary is the State Wrestling Championships, and we've saved the best signing bonus for last: all wrestlers who compete this year will receive a check for $40,000! That's right, there will be no losers at this event, only winners of varying degrees.
With our 40th just on the horizon, we're taking inspiration from manager Wade Reinhard's excellent suggestion last year and pitting all 50 State Champions against each other in Washington, D.C. The top four finishers will earn an additional $40,000, as well as 40 free matches!
Your envelope contains a sign-up form, but if you're more of a PDF type of person, you can head over to the Results page at PlayIWA.com and download the digital version. Send us either the completed form or your information from it, and make sure we receive that with your entry fees by your league's deadline for next cycle (June 2025). That cycle begins on Tuesday, May 27th, due to Memorial Day. Grapplers in the Unknown Wrestler League are not eligible to participate in this or any of our annual tournaments, but everyone else is welcome to a guaranteed $40,000 payday!
A few quick shout-outs before I go: Manager Jeff Annable added yet another World title to his collection this cycle, along with the Jade, American, and World Tag and Six-man straps. IWA Legend Terrence Boyd conquered both the Iron and Diamond Federations, picked up the International honors to boot, and also went home wearing his 17th King of the Ring crown! Manager ~TZ~ saw his World Tag-team winning streak come to an end this time, but that means he now holds the current record of 20 consecutive cycles, and his World Six-man record is continuing unabated. The game is losing a legend in Outlaw Ron Logan, whose contract was successfully handled by the equally legendary Scott Franklin for nearly as long as the IWA has been around, but the squared circle of life goes on.
