JOHNNY B SAYS
Our office recently received the shocking news that manager Timothy L. Clark had passed away. His eligible wrestlers have been posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining Catfish Tim.
Besides being an all-around great guy and father to another IWA manager, Tim was a tireless supporter of his leagues, frequently taking on the dual roles of involved player and Commissioner to further elevate everyone's level of fun. He even went the extra mile of paying the cycle fees of other managers (from his own and rival stables) on many, many occasions when they would have otherwise been inactive. Tim was the real deal.
There's a tribute to him in the October issue of the IWAR Magazine, which is a publication produced by players like you. I encourage you to visit the News page of our website and read it to see a tiny sample of the many lives Tim touched during his all-too-brief time in the imaginary ring.
Some of the stables fortunate enough to be able to call him a member were AOTF, CS, DOD, LPPF, NME, ORDER, and PG. He was no stranger to success both in-league and IWA-wide, and while the following list falls far short of painting an accurate picture of just how formidable a competitor he was, here are the bulk of his major accomplishments: the IWA World Championship, two men's and two ladies' U.S. titles, a pair of King of the Ring crowns as well as a Queen of the Ring crown, six federation straps, five Elite belts, the Hardcore and International titles, two tours as Metropolitan Champion, four men's and three ladies' National titles, 27 IWA-wide regionals, 14 men's and four ladies' World Tag-team straps, five men's and seven ladies' U.S. Tag-team belts, 28 men's and two ladies' World Trios Championships, 11 U.S. Six-man straps, and nine state titles (Alabama, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and South Dakota). All those winnings occurred since the Spring cycle of 2019, which is 137 major titles in only 96 tours!
On a personal note, what I'm going to miss most is hearing any IWA podcasts Tim might have recorded in the future. I've listened to -- and thoroughly enjoyed -- every one he did, always playing them at normal speed and never skipping a second. His passion for the game was contagious, and his drive to create a fun and engaging atmosphere for his fellow players was an inspiration to all.
