JOHNNY B SAYS
We're kicking things off this year by implementing two suggestions from manager Donald Henry (who just added a pair of majors to his already-extensive collection). The first is the previously mentioned roster limit, which is now in effect: you may manage up to 50 wrestlers in any federation, but only up to 200 throughout the entire game.
Donald's second improvement involves the match results: when a match ends early (without going through all 15 holds) due to count out, disqualification, or the "six holds in a row" rule, the final hold position will be included in the description. For example, if a match result read, "Johnny B absolutely obliterated Donald Henry in 6 at 0:01 (Chair Shot) by 162," that would mean the action stopped after only six of the participants' holds had been compared. In addition to offering more insight into why certain matches had the outcomes they did, this change will also provide commissioners with another option for breaking ties, and possibly even contest ideas ("pin an opponent in exactly 11 holds to qualify").
In the May 2010 cycle, manager W.P. Mills saw his N. Vince Hubble become the first undefeated wrestler to enter our prestigious Hall of Fame (spoiler alert: the very next inductee that cycle was owned by ~TZ~). Ten years later, in the September 2020 cycle, MEOW: The Unholy duplicated the feat for manager Jason Frymier. This cycle, ~TZ~ became the third person in the game's history to receive that honor. In related news, BRL players are losing a pair of legends managed by Benjamin Kellogg, but IWA players gained another fun factoid about the enigma that is Michael Cook.
Manager Brad Norman is once again sitting on top of the IWA World -- something he hasn't done since the May 2022 cycle, but he made up for the dry spell by taking a half dozen additional titles, including the U.S. Championship. Meanwhile, IWA Legend Terrence Boyd was wearing the King of the Ring crown as recently as the Fall 2023 cycle, and he now has a baker's dozen of them! He also picked up the Steel Federation and Hardcore straps. Frank Jay Belcher III is off to his usual great start with a half dozen titles, and manager Derek Tuttle won a half dozen of his own, plus the National honors.
