JOHNNY B SAYS
Manager "The Game" pointed out that we were assigning mid-card-level strategies to wrestlers who were inactive, but jobber-level strategies to those who were retiring or transferring (so they wouldn't retain any titles in their former leagues). Besides being inconsistent and confusing, the policy was also tarnishing the reputations of our retirees by forcing them to spend the final moments of their careers as victims of squash matches.
Effective immediately, all wrestlers who are inactive for two or more consecutive cycles, retiring into our Hall of Fame, transferring to another league, or simply being dropped from the roster at the request of their managers will be given mid-card-worthy strategies. This should continue to prevent them from retaining any titles -- and require that challengers put on a better show to win the gold -- but allow them a more dignified exit from the league. Jobber-level strategies will be reserved strictly for IWA jobbers, who don't seem to care about things like reputations or appearing on the left side of match descriptions.
(Technical details: Analysis indicated that the 15-hold strategy totals of main-eventers were most frequently grouped in the 23-point range from 479 to 501, inclusive. We defined "mid-card-level" as the equally sized range from 454 to 476, positioned just below the championship level. This is meant to simulate the closeness in ability of the best mid-carders versus the most overrated members of the top tier.)
