CORRECTION

In last cycle's issue, there was a typo in the name of the manager ranked #1. His name is actually Brad Norman, not Brad Boreman. If you look at a typical computer keyboard, you will see that the B and N keys are located conveniently close to one another, providing us with a little something called "plausible deniability." The same is true for the E and R keys. In fact, try it yourself: try pressing both E and R at the same time to see just how easy it is to do when you're trying. Our apologies to manager Brad Norman of Boreth Careoliba.

JOHNNY B SAYS

Manager Dennis Mooney, among other players, noticed that in team matches, the winning hold of the first member was the only one that was printed. Our system now displays the hold of the wrestler who got the three-count. Note that the outcomes of matches were not affected by this error -- just the names of the winning holds that appeared in the bulletins.

Dennis is known for winning the World Championship (October 2012), for becoming the first manager in IWA history to have two wrestlers in the Hall of Fame (October 1998), and for his previous suggestion, which made it possible for two wrestlers to be thrown out of the battle royal at the same time (December 2018). Thanks for your latest improvement to the game, Dennis!

Here is our attempt to simulate tagging in real-life pro wrestling: a match begins with the team member who has the strongest first hold and the lowest ID number entering the ring. That wrestler stays in the ring until a teammate has a better hold. At each of the 15 locations in a strategy, our computer compares the hold of the wrestler in the ring with the hold of the team member who has the next highest ID number, and then with the hold of the remaining team member. So, if partner #2 is in the ring with a hold worth 28 points but the other two team members have 30-point holds at that spot in their strategies, member #3 will be tagged in, because he has the next highest ID number. Although member #1 also has a hold worth 30 points, tags only occur when a teammate has a better hold, and member #3's equally-strong hold was checked first, due to his ID number. For the next hold in the match, with team member #3 in the ring, the computer will loop back around to member #1 and see if he should be tagged in, and after that it will check team member #2's hold. By always comparing the in-ring hold to the move of the teammate with the next highest ID number, it gives each wrestler on the team the opportunity to contribute.

Stablecade is right around the corner, so be sure your wrestlers are wearing the correct initials in front of their names. Remember that changing stable initials is free!

Wrestlers who choose to go it alone can still participate, competing as one large group. On a related note, manager Michael Cook is now including independent wrestlers on his list of top stables! What a great way to start this year's race!
