HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES

"Maniac" Mike Death (1,002-528-70, $2,042,700), managed by Scott Lowe of Missouri, is calling it quits and joining the ranks of our Hall of Fame members. He was recently interviewed about the subject by Jeff Stone, and we were lucky enough to obtain a copy of the transcript.

Thank you, everyone, for joining me here in this honorable ceremony for "Maniac" Mike Death. Mike, we are here today to honor your dismissal from the wrestling world. Why have you decided to leave us?

Well, I hate that I do have to leave. This is my life.

What is?

Wrestling. Wrestling is what I do. Wrestling is what I have been doing for the past 5 years. It is in my blood. IT IS IN MY BLOOD, JEFF! And I have not been able to stop wrestling -- until now. I had my regular check-up with the doctor and this time the results were not so regular. He came back and diagnosed me with cancer. I was devastated. When I asked if I would be able to wrestle again, he looked solemnly at the ground and shook his head. That was the worst moment of my life. This is why I am leaving or else I would still be around winning championships by kicking these disrespectful younger folks' butts.

Do you have anything to add to that?

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do. I want to thank Jack Death. Without him I wouldn't have my illustrious, abundant amount of tag-team championships. He was my brother and without him... I would be a "nobody." So thanks to you, Jack Death. And I want to remind everyone that I held many singles championships. I didn't just hold the tag-team championships with my brother; we both won many singles championships and had many long reigns. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me in my past leagues (the MOL, BTL, and QPL), but most of all I enjoyed being here in the MEL. Thanks, guys, for so much. I hope to see you around.

WORLD CHAMPION

LOD: Frank "The Tank" Snyder (CFL) won 100 free matches or a real wrestling belt and 50 free matches for Wade Reinhard of Pennsylvania! His 500-pointer earned him the Bronze title, then he fought back the other federation winners to take this prize.

U.S. CHAMPION

This engraved plaque or 25 free matches went to FOE: The Ravenloft (AAL), managed by C.J. Frank of California! His 500 total had better point flow than the strategies of UKA: Napoleon Bon'Apetit (OGL), UKA: Python Pete (IGL), Gary Howe (NML), UZI: Uzi Pawn I (BRL), and reigning King of the Ring Death Warrant (MWL).

KING OF THE RING

After adding up the values of hold positions 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 14 in the strategy of every league battle royal winner, Death Warrant (MWL) was declared our new king with 272 points! (His 15-hold total was 500.) His manager, James Dermott of New York, can now choose either an engraved plaque or 25 free matches! The hold positions used for the battle royals were 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, and 15.

ASIATIC CHAMPION

Gaining these 10 free matches was Jermal Adkins of Kansas! He gave "Chainz" Hurrigan (NDL) a strategy worth a whopping 500 points. Nice going!

HARDCORE CHAMPION

This title, worth $25,000 in imaginary money plus 10 free matches, was awarded to UZI: Drill Sergeant R.L.A. (XWL)! He's managed by Randy Angel of Kentucky.

FEDERATION PLAY-OFFS

EDGE: Brian Coldheart (DZL) took home the Iron Federation title for Joachim Storz of Germany. In the Steel, EDGE: Galan Dracos (HAL) used his 500 to win for Mike Dorsett of New York. The Gold prize went to Jason P. Miller of Kansas, who helped UZI: Power Hungry Maniac (ASL) dethrone the defending champion, TNT: King of Diamonds (MWL)! Also losing by point flow were UZI: The Artist Formerly Known as Prince (CLL), Easy E. Joe Cool (BRL), UKA: Daniel "Frenchy" Peton (OGL), UZI: Da Renegade (TDL), WARGOD: The Eradicator (NML), and Asiatic Champion "Chainz" Hurrigan (NDL). They all had 500 points. In the Diamond Federation, Andre Sabucco of Texas coached FOE: Icky the Psycho Donkey (LOL) to a point flow victory over UZI: Smooth Operator (NFL). Both had a 500-pointer. The Bronze Federation winner was eventual World Champion Frank "The Tank," who first had to edge out RADS: Superstar Sean Savant (IGL) since Sean also had a strategy worth 500 points! The 25 free matches for the Jade title were claimed by Craig Perkins of Connecticut, who led ROW: Special Agent B.M.F. (JIL) to a narrow win over UZI: Polish Power Jakub Pavlik (JDL), TV: Matt Hardy (SHL), UZI: Pestilence (KSL), and UZI: Mighty Max De Jung (PKL).

NATIONAL CHAMPION, IWA-WIDE REGIONALS

MWC: "Ravishing" Larry Nightmare (GRL), managed by Steven M. Shotliff of Minnesota, used his perfect 501 total to claim the Mountain region, then overpowered everyone to win the National title's engraved plaque or 25 free matches! Also earning $20,000 for conquering a region were...

Atlantic: UZI: Delirium (CLL)
managed by Jason P. Miller of Kansas; edged out THE CLICK: "The Phenomenal" Manny Styles (NDL), HOD: Quebec Hitman M.R. Plante (ASL), Tacoma Thunder (CWL), and UMI: Universal (NML), all with 500
Central: EDGE: Joke Goofball (BBL)
owned by Jake Duvall of Georgia; edged Blade (NDL), LE: Leapin' Lanny Poffo (NYL), RDI: The Bullet Butch Starr (ASL), and AHL: "#5" Rob Davidson (NML), all with 500
Dixie: ICE: Slaughter (IGL)
managed by Wade Reinhard of Pennsylvania; used point flow against both UKA: Count De Mo'Ney (OGL) and EBM: "Poster Boy" Jeff Gordon (ASL), all with 500 points
Eastern: UZI: Ruthless Rick Riot (ASL)
Jason P. Miller helped him edge UZI: Ravenous Rick James (CLL), DOOM: Bishop Faith (BBL), and AHL: Finz the Shark (NML), all with 500
Northern: UKA: Iron Man Pete K (IGL)
owned by veteran manager Iron Man Pete Kolomichuk of Ohio; edged out EBM: The Punisher (ASL), both with 500
Pacific: EDGE/XR: "Insane" Shane Hogg (GRL)
Jeff Annable of Canada gave him a 500 total
Prairie: ICE: Renegade Riley Reinhard (CFL)
managed by Wade Reinhard; edged COT: Arson (IGL) and EBM: Obelisk the Tormentor (ASL), all with 500
Southern: TV: "Smooth Operator" Shawn Steele (ASL)
Gilberto J. Gonzalez of Arizona coached him to 500 points
Western: DOOM: Dark Prophet (NFL)
Thomas Francis of Pennsylvania led him to point flow victory over UKA: The Disciple of Pain (LBL)

LADIES' TITLES

The Ladies' World Champion last cycle was CB: Christi "Got It All" Paul (FFL), managed by W.P. Mills of Wisconsin! He won an engraved plaque or 15 free matches when she edged out UZI: Miss Bossy (GDL), who also had 500 points. Christi paired with stablemate Rudi "Baby Got" Bakhtiar and they took the Ladies' tag belts! Then W.P. added "Perfect Ten" Jen Carfagno to the team and tried for the World Six-woman titles, but they ended up in the hands of UZI/FDC: Marlana Blaze, owned by Luke Fletcher of Georgia, Sensational Stacy Whiskey, managed by Michael Eaves of Mississippi, and UZI: Trailer Wench Agatha Terrible (LLL), who belongs to Jason P. Miller of Kansas. Also losing by point flow were UZI: Aunt Flo, "Misery" Sharon Payne, and the previous World Champion, Anita "Lotta" Payne (GAL). FOE: Sexy Sunny Beach (LLL) won the Queen of the Ring crown for Tony Robinson of Florida. She had 499 points. After being edged out the previous cycle, nWo: Evil Wonder Woman (FFL) returned to take the $20,000 Ladies' U.S. title with a vengeance! She's managed by Tony Ibrahim of Kansas. The Ladies' National Champion was UZI: Mean Jean Baljean (GDL). She had to defeat UZI/FDC: Sable Blaze (GDL) by point flow, since both had a 500 total. Manager Jason Battaglia of New York teamed her with Godzooky and Rachel "The Whale" Huntoon and watched them win the U.S. Six-woman straps. Then Jean took a well deserved break while her partners competed for -- and won -- the Ladies' U.S. tag belts!

WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS

ACE: Gorku the Giant Armadillo and the Wiley Crustacean (WAL) retained these titles for Kevin DiFranco of New York! This time, however, they had to share the glory. UZI: Ruthless Rick and Demonic Dave Riot (ASL), managed by Jason P. Miller of Kansas, ended in an unbreakable tie for the belts -- not a bad way to celebrate their third consecutive time in the top ten! The top four teams in the rankings had 516 points, including the FOE pair from the AAL which also made the list last cycle!
