JOHNNY B SAYS Starting right now, you can pay for your matches with cash, a check or money order (U.S. players only), MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and debit cards with any of those four logos on them! We want to make things as convenient as possible for our players, so we've taken the steps to provide you with these new payment options. Don't forget to completely fill out the "Credit Card Information" section of your Match Selection Sheet to avoid processing delays. Finally, if you have been sending us your matches by email, please let us know your 3-digit card verification number! The IWA is very sad to announce that Tim Booth of North Carolina passed away on May 30th from an apparent heart attack. This former manager was the founder of the infamous Triple Threat stable (III T). Some of his numerous accomplishments include winning the XXL championship belt in March of 2000 with Big Bad Brian Oddie, then winning it AGAIN plus the Gold Federation title later that year, in September, with III T/CGT: Terrible Tim. He made a return to the game earlier this year, but unfortunately it turned out to be a brief one. Tim made many friends with other managers during his IWA career, and he will surely be missed. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family.
HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES Retiring from the IWA this cycle is NVUS: Gravestone of the HML! He amassed a lifetime record of 1,462-607-144, with 35 stars and $5,042,900 in imaginary earnings. Congratulations to Dan Delaney of Ohio for managing this stellar athlete! Dan will receive an engraved plaque.
WORLD CHAMPION After edging WWW: Jonathan Jankowski (SHL) for the Jade Federation title, ILL: Caregiver Prozac (PKL) turned back the other federation champions with his 501-pointer to win the World prize of 100 free matches or a real wrestling belt and 50 free matches! Managed by the Smooth One Jeff Manning of Ohio, Prozac dedicates the win to his girlfriend, COT: Little Orphan Amphetamine (PKL).
U.S. CHAMPION Jeremy Nace of Pennsylvania picked up an engraved plaque or 25 free matches by leading USD: "Mutant Dog Catcher" Larry Wilson (AAL) to point flow victory over ILL: Manasa "Fists" Umbari (PKL)! Both wrestlers had 500 points.
KING OF THE RING HUNS: Triple H (MIL) won an engraved plaque or 25 free matches for Mark Spears of Illinois by tossing all his opponents out of the ring! We added up the values of hold positions 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 in every league battle royal winner's strategy to find this champion. ILL: The King of the Parking Lot (WKL) and CORE: Derek D'Spayre (DZL) had the same 272-point total, but Triple H had the best overall strategy so he was awarded the title.
FEDERATION PLAY-OFFS The Iron Federation champion was TRI-ME: "The Big Mofo" A.D. (MIL), managed by 7OOtcepsuSlausU. He was entered in the running for this title due to an in-league error. Had it not been for this, ILL: "Venom" Eddie Brock (IML) would have won the prize for the Smooth One Jeff Manning of Ohio. Taking the Steel Federation honors was KOI: The Pickle (DIL). Robert Lawrence of California gave him a strategy worth 499 points, so he wins 25 free matches! In the Gold Federation, Jason P. Miller of Kansas led USD: Evil Minion #2 (CLL) to victory over GX/WC: Alexander "Colossus" Fryeright (HML), WC: Chester "Cheetah" Wright (ASL), and FDR: Deathwish (NDL). The Diamond Federation's free matches were claimed by Randy Angel of Kentucky, who coached ILL: The King of the Parking Lot (and nearly of the Ring) from the WKL to a win by point flow over both AGF: Hardcore Tyrone (NSL) and USD: Super Duper Richard Simmons (NFL). EDGE: King Krusher (WAL) conquered the Bronze Federation with the 500-pointer supplied by Michael Eaves of Mississippi. Jade Federation audiences saw eventual World Champion Caregiver Prozac edge WWW: Jonathan Jankowski (SHL) for the title. Both had 501 points.
NATIONAL CHAMPION, IWA-WIDE REGIONALS Gaining this prize of an engraved plaque or 25 free matches was Benjamin Iannarelli of Ohio! His wrestler, ACE: MindTakeover (WAL), won the Atlantic region, then edged Southern regional champion Warlord Wade Reinhard (who also had 501 points) to take the National belt. The other winners were...
LADIES' TITLES Holding onto the Ladies' World title was the Smooth One Jeff Manning of Ohio! This time he used ILL: The TSuenami Sue Norris (LLL) to earn the engraved plaque or 15 free matches. She had a 500 singles total, then teamed up with Invincible Laura Lipkowitz and won the Ladies' U.S. Tag-team straps with a perfect 516 tag total! They added Charismatic Olivia Tyson and tried for the World Six-woman belts, but lost by point flow to Jeff's other 521-point partners, ILL: "Misery" Sharon, Anita "Lotta," and Brenda "Bring Da" Payne (GAL)! Olivia didn't go home to the Smooth One empty-handed, since she won the Ladies' U.S. title with her 499-pointer. Laura Lipkowitz attempted to take a singles title of her own, but AA: Tatiana-Leyte (LLL), managed by Eric Jones of Maryland, was the one who ended up winning the Ladies' National Championship. Also losing the belt by point flow was IW: Sweet Lorena (LLL). All three ladies had 499 points. The Queen of the Ring was USD: Your Mom (GDL)! Jason P. The top seven teams in the standings had 516 points, including Basket Case and Mental Case, who not only made the list last time but also had a perfect total then, too! "The Fiend" M.J. and "The Mafioso" M.C. also held on tight, moving up from sixth to second place. Very impressive!
