JOHNNY B SAYS NVUS: Pitbull of the SHL is retiring this cycle. Darrell Johnson of Vermont managed him to a record of 1,677-125-50 with $2,970,400 in earnings (not to mention 10 stars). He has held league titles in the LHL, PBL, and SHL, and also won major awards including the King of the Ring crown, the Jade Federation honors, and the 2003 Waikiki Beach Rumble belt. Congratulations to Darrell, who wins an engraved plaque! Our next Hall of Fame inductee fought under the leadership of Ryan Fertuck of Canada. ROCK achieved lifetime stats of 1,780-138-32, with $4,378,700 in the bank and 10 stars in his portfolio. He held more HHL titles than anyone, and was known as the HHL Franchise. In his early IWA career (under the name Blade) he held many titles, both federation and league. Ryan will receive a well-deserved plaque to mark this occasion. The final two entries this time belong to Eric Dudick of New York. DC: "Big Dawg" Nick Fina (1,001-99-34, $2,225,500) *15 ends his career with much to brag about, and DC: E Town Concrete (1,002-204-54, $2,621,300) *22 finishes his tour of duty with even more impressive stats. Eric wins two engraved plaques for managing them so well!
WORLD CHAMPION MWC: Ned the Nerd (FTL) calculated the perfect strategy, and used his 501-pointer to conquer first the Bronze Federation, and then the World title. His manager, Steven M. Shotliff of Minnesota, wins a real wrestling belt and 50 free matches or 100 free matches!
U.S. CHAMPION Chris Spellman of Illinois can kick back and enjoy a large, engraved plaque or 25 free matches. The strategy he gave to DC: Anxiety (LWL) was worth 500 points, which allowed him to beat the TV champions from all other leagues. Nice work!
KING OF THE RING Daniel Peton of New Jersey earned a large, engraved plaque or 25 free matches by coaching AOE: "British Brawn" Tubby Smith (WTL) to victory over all other battle royal winners. After adding up the values of the holds in positions 1, 3, 5, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14 of his strategy, his 271 total couldn't be beaten. It could be tied, but PA: Sinister Steve Storm (HHL) couldn't match Tubby when things came down to point flow. Great job, Daniel!
AMERICAN CHAMPION IIEII: Keith "The Devil" Voss (SCL), who manages his own career from you-know-where, used his red hot 500-pointer to gain the IWA American title. After being declared the winner, Keith grabbed the announcer's mic and snarled to the enraged crowd, "Sooner or later, EVERYONE sells his soul to the Devil!" (We're sending his engraved plaque or 15 free matches to his New Jersey office, so try to get him to throw those in when you make your deal.)
HARDCORE CHAMPION In the hardcore clash of the federation champions, Jade winner John Cena (WWL) emerged victorious over the Iron Federation's DC: Agony (LWL). Manager Beto Gonzales of Arizona now receives his choice of an engraved plaque or 15 free matches, since his 501-point strategy had better point flow.
URBAN LEGEND CHAMPION Mike Moore of North Carolina added another engraved plaque or 15 free matches to his prize collection, and another accomplishment to his resume. The 499-pointer he chose for WWW: Masked Stormtrooper Lightning (SFL) allowed him to push Anthony Dudick to the Urban sidelines last cycle (though we have a feeling he's planning to push back).
FEDERATION PLAY-OFFS The Iron Federation title went to DC: Agony (LWL), who was managed to a perfect 501 by Chris Spellman of Illinois. In the Steel, LIGHTNING XPRESS: White Lightning Tim Armstrong (MRL) defeated EDGE: Number Seventy-Eight (RHL) by point flow to win it for Mike Moore of North Carolina. Mike also picked up the Gold Federation honors, using WWW: Masked Stormtrooper Lightning (SFL). (An in-league error cost him the league title, so his 499 was put into the running for the Gold.) Winning his eighth Diamond Federation strap was Michael Eaves of Mississippi, who helped PA: Looney Larry Leatherface (NFL) keep the prize out of the hands of another UKA member. This time it was Insane Hairbag (LBL) who lost by point flow. He and the Looney one had 499 points each. World Champion Ned the Nerd claimed the Bronze title before moving up. Gaining 25 free matches for his stellar performance in the Jade Federation was Beto Gonzales of Arizona! He led his wrestler, John Cena (WWL), to a perfect 501-pointer.
NATIONAL CHAMPION, IWA-WIDE REGIONALS The Reverend Horton Heat (PKL) showed little mercy as he trampled over the Southern regional champions with his perfect 501 total. His success in the battle for the National title meant a large, engraved plaque or 25 free matches for his manager, Richard Wolfenden of Canada! The rest of the regions were awarded to...
LADIES' TITLES Jason Battaglia of New York managed NME: Rachel "The Whale" Huntoon (GDL) all the way to the Ladies' World title last time. Her 501-pointer won him an engraved plaque or 15 free matches! NVUS: Tawny "Twin" Peaks (WUL) took the Queen of the Ring crown with the 499 total she received from Eric Lindsay of Pennsylvania. Eric also won the Ladies' U.S. tag titles, using NVUS: Zornya Dreams and Sa Reena Lee (GDL). Scott K. Olson of Arizona picked up 10 free matches, since UKA: Aphrodite (WUL) was able to hold on to the Ladies' U.S. title. Impressive! Taking the Ladies' National championship was NVUS: Dana the Desirable (GDL), managed by Steven Henkel of Maryland. She edged out Dana the Delicious, Aphrodite, Dana Lynn Henkel, and Artemis (all belonging to Steven), plus NME: Mean Jean Baljean (GDL). All six women had 499 points! Steven then teamed her with Dana Lynn Henkel and Dana the Delicious and won the U.S. Six-woman titles. He ended his cycle by gaining the World Six-woman straps with NVUS: Persephone, Artemis, and Aphrodite (GDL). Going home with the Ladies' Tag-team belts were NME: Danielle Constanzo, owned by Anthony Fazio of Illinois, and Awesome Amy Payne (GDL), managed by C.J. Frank of California. Together they had 516 points.
WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS The top nine teams in the tag standings had 516 points, and the top three tied for the World titles! The Spivey brothers look to Anthony Rodriguez of Alabama for strategies and tactics, while the NVUS members call Don Szurka of Wisconsin their secret weapon. The DHM team that made the list answers to "The Ladies' Man" Nick Dendekker of Canada.
TOP 10 TAG-TEAMS
U.S. TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS Managed to perfection by Anthony Dudick of New York, DC: "The Tattooist" Tony Sleeves and "The Piercer" Peter Hurt (IIL) won these titles by point flow over three other teams. The top seven teams listed had 521 points!
