JOHNNY B SAYS

The High Roller of last cycle was LB's Bad News Blake! This HRL champion boasts a record of 73-5-2 *1 with $145,300 in the casino vault. If you think the odds of dethroning Sly Smith of West Virginia are in your favor, head over to the IWA's only cash prize league. This Jade Federation league is open only to brand new wrestlers, and each cycle the champion is awarded 50 cents for every card in the bulletin!

Another league which does not allow anyone to transfer in has just opened this cycle, but the action is already underway! Newly created wrestlers in the World Wrestling League MUST agree to mimic professional wrestlers of past or present eras (for example, you can call your grappler Shane "Hurricane" Helms and have his comments reflect Shane's persona). No stable initials are allowed in this new league, which was created at the request of a large group of managers. And, as if this concept weren't exciting enough by itself, we've made the WWL the Jade Hardcore league!

Steve and Laura Grigware of Massachusetts are retiring three of their wrestlers from the Bone Crusher League this cycle. Part of the MISFITS stable, all three proved that you don't need to fit in to succeed! Laura managed the Mongolian Maniac to impressive stats of 1,371-239-28 *5 with $2,884,700 in earnings, and the Mongolian Madman to a record of 1,328-235-36 *5 with $2,134,200 in the bank. Steve led his alter-ego Superstar Stevie G. to career earnings of $3,272,700 and a record of 1,245-241-19. He may not have racked up quite as many wins as his retiring stablemates, but he held the IWA Rough House title and numerous titles in different leagues.

Former World Six-man champion Altra Stradivarius of the Circle of Tyrants enters our Hall of Fame with a record of 1,092-282-50 *17 and $2,310,100 in earnings. Much to the dismay of fans (particularly females), his retirement comes as the result of a fallout with his tag partner, spelling the end of what was arguably the most dominant tag-team in HAL history, Disillusions of Grandeur! An engraved plaque will be sent to Jen "Warlock" Bialecki of Wisconsin to mark this somber occasion.

WORLD CHAMPION

LB's Ric Legend (NDL) is $300,000 richer, and a real wrestling belt and 50 free matches or 100 free matches will be sent to Sly Smith of West Virginia, since Ric is the reigning IWA World Champion! He edged IVHM: Dr. of Desire Daven Lee (TDL) for the Gold Federation, then took on Steel Federation champion RA: B.L. Boulder (FWL) and emerged victorious. All three had 501-point strategies.

U.S. CHAMPION

Gaining $60,000 plus a large, engraved plaque or 25 free matches for his manager was WWW: Neo (OGL)! Anthony Fazio of Illinois led him to point flow victory over EDGE/DR: Travis T. Spivey (SSL) and PAIN: Meng (FWL). All three wrestlers had a strategy worth 500 points.

KING OF THE RING

"The Intellectual Superstar" Kevin J. Reuter of Florida gets to take home a large, engraved plaque or 25 free matches since CTI: Manny the Maniacal Mailman (BRL) has been named King for a Cycle! He was put in the running for this title because he was mistakenly left out of his league battle royal. Also with a 499 total was Bronze Federation champion WWW: Kidd Treacherous (MEL), managed by Kevin Scott of California, who landed in second place after edging the 496-point strategy belonging to CTI: Deathsayer Demon (CPL). He's managed by "Ice Cold Enforcer" Alan Handley of North Carolina.

AMERICAN CHAMPION

Dan Delaney of Ohio won an engraved plaque or 15 free matches by leading DC: Caretaker (ESL) to the top of our American leagues. He had a 499-pointer.

HARDCORE CHAMPION

SC: Pestilence (GNL) took this engraved plaque or 15 free matches over the other Hardcore league champions. His manager, J. Sanudo of Virginia, armed him with a 499 total.

URBAN LEGEND CHAMPION

Iron Federation winner NME: Bobby Braxton (TBL), managed by Christopher Miler of Michigan, used point flow to defeat CTI: Barbarian (SFL) and Diamond Federation champion SC: Pure Hell (LVL), and thus picked up an engraved plaque or 15 free matches. All three men sported a 499-point strategy.

FEDERATION PLAY-OFFS

NME: Bobby Braxton (TBL), managed by Christopher Miler of Michigan, won the Iron Federation championship with a 499-pointer. The $40,000 purse for the Steel Federation went to RA: B.L. Boulder (FWL), managed to a 501 by David Barriner of California. Ric Legend held the Gold title before trading up to the World belt. Taking the 25 free matches in the Diamond was SC: Pure Hell (LVL), managed by Bubba Johnson of Mississippi. He had 499 points. Kevin Scott of California couldn't decide if WWW: Kidd Treacherous (MEL) or WWW: Sin City Slicker(CFL) should go for the Bronze, so he sent both after the title and now they're sharing it! Each man had a 499. In the Jade Federation, THO: Switchblade (JIL) used his 499 total to win big for manager Kenneth Irwin II of Mississippi.

Managed to the top by Daven L. Hamilton of Kentucky, IVHM: The Hit-Man Chris Hamilton (TDL) took home this large, engraved plaque or 25 free matches. Also with a perfect 501 but losing the Central region to Chris by point flow was ATC: Darkside (HML). Grabbing the remaining $20,000 titles were...

LADIES' TITLES

Winning the $40,000 Ladies' World Championship was CTI: Stephy the Vampire (VVL), managed to a 499 by "The Ladies' Man" Nick Dendekker of Canada! He gets his choice of an engraved plaque or 15 free matches. The Queen of the Ring title went to NB: "Young and Natural" Ines Cudna (VVL), managed by Eric Lindsay of Pennsylvania. Taking the Ladies' U.S. belt and its matching $20,000 purse was SC: Sadistic Sarah Lancaster (GDL). Stephen Hite of Pennsylvania managed her to the win, then teamed her with Gorgeous Jami Gertz and Perfect Piper Perabo to claim the U.S. Six-woman titles. Nice work! Francis Guy of Massachusetts also grabbed two ladies--uh, make that ladies' titles--last cycle. The National Championship was awarded to LPPF: "Dangerously Sexy" Yasmine Bleeth (VVL) after she edged out her stable and league mates "Crimson Goddess" Pamela Anderson, "The Dark Angel" Eliza Dushku, and "Hot Stuff" Carmen Electra. All four had a perfect 501 total. Then he won the Ladies' U.S. tag honors with LPPF: Buffy and Destiny Summers (GDL)! The Ladies' Tag-team champions were C.J. Frank of Texas' NME: John Kerry "In a Dress" and Carol the Bar Maid (FFL), managed by Chad LaBombard of Michigan. C.J. didn't have any help taking on the World Six-woman titles, but he still won with NME: "Crazy Cousin" Heather, "Psycho" Sara Frank, and "The Pinkness" Jennifer Frank (GDL). They had a perfect 521.

TOP 10 LEAGUES

The most active leagues for the December cycle, going by the number of matches, were: MRL (continuing to dominate the game, this time nearly setting a new record with 1,515 matches!), HRL (staying comfortably in second, and closing the gap with an increased 941 matches!), BRL (taking third with an extremely active 615 matches), TCL, TDL, LNL, LLL, SCL, YCL, and PKL.

The top league that will receive a two matches for $1 cycle next time is once again the Texas Death League! It was home to an average strategy total of 495.614 points for all active wrestlers. The BRL claimed second again, this time with 491.795 points. Immediately behind it was the SCL, which had a 491.065-point average.

The MRL continued to break records by having over 225 cards. We have corrected the processing issue that prevented all those cards from being printed and offer our sincerest apologies to the affected managers. The IWA has never before experienced the level of activity that some of our leagues are now producing! We're glad everyone is having so much fun, and that so many of you are making a conscious effort to bring even more fun to the game for your fellow managers. It's obviously working!
